Résumé

He constantly changing immersed in the XXI century people have motivated the Dominican education system to improve quality in teaching methods and purpose of the ideal of comprehensive training from the methodology of competency-based approach. Today it is important for the education system and teachers know and reflect on what to take account to improve ways of teaching and learning of students. Numerous investigations have attempted to explain the implications of good teaching and good learning as a product to society, in this sense, it is necessary to align the methodological approach of teaching to the needs of society so that the result is consistent what is expected to achieve. The comprehensive training from the skills approach Dominican students could be possible if the teacher is able to assess the attitudes and qualities shown by students during the performance of the teaching-learning, teacher and visionary, curious and innovative takes into account not only the various teaching methodologies as how to achieve learning, also includes processes that influence and are performed so that students reach learning for life, make the teachers understand this reality is the key to respond to the demands of the times. For research was intended as a general objective: To assess the prospects and faculty needs related to the implementation of the Fundamental Skills, Instructional Strategies, Media and Pedagogical Resources Evaluation Techniques raised the Dominican Educational System for the Secondary Level. As specific objectives to assess the views of teachers in relation to the implementation of competency-based approach, to determine the frequency in which teachers apply teaching strategies in teaching practice of each core competency and training needs having regard also identify the continuity that teachers apply assessment strategies in teaching practice of each core competency and training needs has about on the other hand Explore how often faculty applies Media and Learning Resources in teaching practice of each competition fundamental and training needs. Therefore this research is descriptive exploratory, the design that was used is not experimental field (transactional, descriptive, correlational-causal) with mixed methodological approach (quantitative and qualitative) with input from the complementarity of triangulation data, sources, techniques and instruments, these were the semi-structured interview and questionnaire in order to determine the application and the needs of 7 core competencies, 28 teaching strategies, 15/2 and teaching resources and 10 evaluation techniques aimed the public education sector, the sample consisted of 322 tutors / ace, and 161 coordinators / ace and teaching. The analyzed results yielded information on the research objectives, offering response in relation to the implementation, training needs of key competencies, teaching strategies, media and teaching resources and evaluation techniques, this constituted the starting point to identify the characteristics of the profile and performance of teachers in secondary education.
