Abstract

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a frequent and important problem in Paediatrics. Diagnosis is clinical, based on the symptoms of attention deficit, impulsivity and hyperactivity, which cause difficulties, especially in the learning process and socialization. The aim of this research is investigate if the used instruments could be a useful tool for the analysis of the Methylphenidate’s treatment efficacy in ADHD’s children. Interviews and cognitive evaluation, complemented by questionnaires and rating scales directed to parents and teachers. Rating scales revealed to be useful as an instrument to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment of ADHD. All along with these instruments, teachers have applied classroom strategies in order to improve the pupil’s success. This disturbance therapy requires a coordinated effort among health professionals and educators/teachers, working together with parents.
