Abstract

April 9, 2022 marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of a great woman, Rosalía Robles Cerdán, midwife. Mrs. Rosalía developed an enormous work in defense and promotion of the profession of Midwife, the search for the improvement of the quality of life of mothers and their children and undertook a tireless fight for women’s rights. His concern for professional associations led him to found in 1930 the Official College of Midwives of Seville and the publication “La Matrona Hispalense” in 1929, the official organ of the College. To commemorate this event, activities are being carried out that include a Cycle of Conferences and a Traveling Exhibition that will tour those places that have marked the life trajectory of Mrs. Rosalía (San Fernando, Chiclana de la Frontera, Cádiz, Sevilla), among other places. To prepare this work, written sources have been consulted, located in various archives, and oral sources (interview with his goddaughter), as well as diverse personal documentation of Mrs. Rosalía and her time, the last third of the 19th century and the first decades of the 20th
