Résumé

The objective of this research has been, on the one hand, to verify if there aresignificant differences when using the different strategies to solve the problems in thecouple according to the sex variable and the level of studies; and, on the other hand, toobserve if the couple applies the same strategies or if, on the contrary, there aredifferences between them. The sample consisted of 354 university students andCompulsory Secondary Education, of which only 273 between the ages of 14 and 26met the requirement of having had a couple of at least one month. The Spanishadaptation of Bonache, Ramírez-Santana and González-Mendez (2016) of the ConflictResolution Styles Inventory instrument (CRSI; Kurdek, 1994) was applied. The datashow us that the conflict resolution strategy most used by young people in our sample, and to a greater extent used by women, are destructive or of negative involvement in theconflict, giving rise to dysfunctional interactions that reduce subjective well-being. Inaddition, it can be added that both the perception of the strategies of the evaluatedsubject, as well as the ones that this indicates that his partner uses, are of negativeimplication or withdrawal from the problem, that is, launching personal attacks, insults, getting angry and losing control, reaching the limit and refusing to speak, and evenignoring his person, among other tactics.
