Factores motivacionales que justifican la implementación del Internet de las Cosas como sistema de seguridad en el sector hotelero

Abstract

The use of the Internet of Things as a security system in the hotel sector brings a competitive advantage to hotels thanks to the security transmitted to customers, as well as cost savings and an extra benefit due to the optimized and automated management of many of their services. Even so, only half of the hotels are taking initiatives to implement this technology. For this reason and due to the rise of the Internet of Things in companies, a bibliographic study is carried out that allows obtaining a list of motivational factors that can affect hotels when accepting and deciding to insert initiatives based on the Internet of Things as a security tool, and a causal study of university professors (experts in technologies and hotels) and managers of the hotel technology department that allows confirming the relationship of these factors in this decision and classifying them by their relevance. The list obtained consists of the following motivational factors: quality management, available information, external conditioning, trust, perceived compatibility, perceived usefulness, attitude and intention, and among the most decisive factors in this whole process (apart from usefulness and attitude) is trust, which would be the extent of security and privacy that hotels have in the use of this tool.
