Resum

This doctoral thesis addressed the study of university radio stations in Ecuador, stations with their own special characteristics to teach and educate, since they differ from conventional media; originating in Ecuadorian broadcasting: Its development has been slow, but with promising results and future expansion projections thanks to new ICTs, digital platforms and social networks. This research focused its study on 30 university stations that currently exist in Ecuador as media created by higher education entities for the dissemination of science, the dissemination of culture, the academy, the environment and the link with the community in general. but in a specific way of the university to which it belongs. The analysis of the Ecuadorian university radios allowed us to know that, of the 30 stations, only 14 are associated with the Network of University Radios of Ecuador RRUE, which limits the development of said means of communication. The general objective of the study was to implement the educommunicative and service-learning proposal from a didactic, educational and social point of view that allows the transmission of knowledge and information through the teaching cloisters with the use of university radios, as a means of communication. alternative for the training of new professionals and for the benefit of society in general. For this purpose, the qualitative design method was applied with an open approach, applying deepening processes in obtaining, collecting, systematizing, analyzing and classifying information; and a complete bibliographic and theoretical review from previous studies. An online survey/questionnaire was developed for the directors of university radio stations, master control or sound technicians, and students who collaborate in said media. Additionally, a semi-structured interview was conducted with ten experts on the subject of study, with the aim of obtaining different criteria and cognitive perspectives regarding the use of methodological tools for collecting information on university radio; and the application of the participant observation instrument, a research tool that allowed interaction with focus groups of teachers and students from Higher Education institutions that have university radio stations. The results obtained through various elaborated graphs and codified informative tables expose the operation and type of Ecuadorian university radio stations, their form of emission and transmission, type of programming and content, technical and human equipment, financing, use of digital platforms and social networks, and other information provided by directors, technical operators and students/collaborators of the stations; information that shows that university radio stations in Ecuador, despite their many limitations and lack of support from their own authorities, have become true and valuable educational communication tools while broadcasting their regular programming. The research concludes by pointing out that Ecuadorian university radios have experienced a significant growth from 14 to 30 radio stations, achieving a vertiginous increase during the last 20 years to become true educational media, which are constantly gaining ground in an effective and timely manner. adding listeners and followers in the digital and multimedia spectrum through the Internet and social networks from where they spread valuable information; not only to entertain, but also to educate, teach, share experiences of daily life, accompany and guide in the search for possible solutions to the serious problems that arise in common.
