Resumen
Migration on a global scale has an impact on different aspects such as employment, health, food, education, etc. Various studies affirm that the main cause of migration is the economic factor. The possibility of economic improvement attracts people to seek a future in new territories. Usually, migrations are better known and occur between rich and poor countries and territories, but they also occur between countries with similar economic levels, as is the case in the territorial area that concerns us, between the north of Peru and Ecuador. This research aims to analyse the migratory movements carried out on the border of the Peruvian department of Tumbes, Peruvian border with Ecuador, in the period Jan/2018 - Oct/2022. At the same time, it will partially study tourist movements, which are not strictly migratory, and the border cooperation policies that have been established between the two states. Migrations represent important changes in population dynamics. Therefore, migratory flows made up of a mostly male population of productive age are presented, both in the entry and exit of migrants, considering the sociodemographic profile such as gender, age, as well as the means of transportation/walkers. Thus, border realities are shown as social constructions that are constantly changing, the same ones that represent a challenge for governments
