Abstract
The deactivation of internal borders in the European Union increased, exponentially, the mobility of goods and passengers, affecting the change in transport logistics. Together, in the fulfillment of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, transport has a special impact on SDG 7, Affordable and clean energy, SDG 11, Sustainable cities and communities and SDG 13, on climate action. But in addition, land transport must face conjunctural situations, as is currently the case, with the shortage of truck drivers. In this context, the existence of five challenges is considered: . Traffic congestion, which affects both air and road transport; Sustainability, as transport still depends on fossil fuels to cover most of its energy needs; air quality, as transport emissions must be reduced; The standardization and logistics of transport and transport logistics and competition from globalized markets. From this reality, the European Union wants to equip itself with a highly competitive, effective, efficient and sustainable freight transport system, which links the main logistics platforms of the continent. The main European ports will have to be connected to the large distribution centres for goods by road and rail. The Detailed Implementation Plan 2022 of the Autopistas del Mar, of June 8, 2022 (ANAVE, 2022), will mean a restructuring of the ports and their umland, since the reduction of logistics costs of the Autopistas del Mar means essential savings.
