Resumen

Innovation in the tourism sector has become one of the keys to success, while knowledge transfer is one of the University’s missions towards society and the productive sector. The Provincial Council of Huelva proposed to the G.I. “Local Development Institute” (UHU) an analysis and diagnosis of the possibilities of transferring the research carried out to the tourism sector. The general objective has been to study the research carried out (and in progress) at the University of Huelva on the subject of tourism innovation or research transferable to the tourism sector. The methodology is based on secondary sources (directories and databases) and is complemented by questionnaires. The results are: a) existence of different research groups/researchers who carry out projects and publications on tourism innovation; b) poor relationship between the different groups; c) notable production of transferable research not strictly on tourism innovation; d) scant presence of competitive/non-competitive tourism projects.
