Resum

In this research, a total of 349 articles on tourism and gender are reviewed up to the year 2020, through a literature search in the main international databases: Web of Science and Scopus. On the one hand, a bibliometric analysis is carried out in which the chronological evolution of the publications, connections between authors and keywords are reflected, using the VOSviewer software. Subsequently, a qualitative analysis of 49 open access articles is carried out, in which the methodology and conclusions are analyzed in depth. Five major themes are identified: tourism entrepreneurship and management, human resources and labor market, literature analysis and bibliometric studies, tourist behavior and tourist image. The conclusions of the articles suggest that the gender factor affects, in one way or another, any of these issues, and must be taken into account and analyzed in any activity or field.
