Abstract
The article presents the results of a study applied in the year 2022 to students entering the University of Buenos Aires, with the aim of recognizing strategies related to the search for and access to information in higher education. Among the results found, degrees of indecision and also of disagreement stand out with respect to knowing how to use the periodicals library and how to handle oneself skillfully in the library. This reality is presented as an aspect to be considered when carrying out actions that accompany the strengthening of the students' critical competence
