Resum
In this chapter, the meaning and usefulness of the educational organization as an essential field of knowledge in the constant task of educational professionals to understand and improve the functioning of schools are analyzed. This chapter aims to serve as a general introduction to knowledge about educational organization and organizational analysis. We justify the importance of organizational factors and their usefulness for individuals who perform their professional tasks within them. Likewise, we attempt to connect educational organization with Other disciplines within the field of education sciences, with the main purpose of obtaining a comprehensive view of the contributions that can be made to the understanding of school institutions. Additionally, we present the main approaches to organizational knowledge and research, and we conclude with some reflections towards a comprehensive model of a school that can help professionals to know how to be, how to read, and how to act within the educational organization.
