Resumen

El propósito del presente trabajo es conocer los factores que influyen en el Nivel de Desarrollo de la Responsabilidad Social Corporativa (RSC). Los cambios que se han dado en las organizaciones justifican el papel que la RSC ha adquirido a lo largo del tiempo. La crisis de credibilidad empresarial en la que las empresas se encuentran inmersas provocada por los escándalos empresariales y la importancia de la reputación empresarial, la necesidad de innovar a través de la diferenciación como factor no sólo de éxito sino de supervivencia, la presión de la sociedad civil, la necesidad y mayor relevancia de valores éticos, junto al deterioro medioambiental son factores que han dado lugar a que la RSC se considere variable estratégica en las organizaciones. Se contrastará el modelo de Carroll (1991) sobre una muestra de cadenas hoteleras españolas. Para su contraste hemos usado la técnica Partial Least Square (PLS) y se verifican las premisas del marco teórico. El sector turístico español, y en concreto sus cadenas hoteleras, necesitan buscar soluciones que incrementen la competitividad del sector. Entre dichas medidas podría estar la de conseguir vincular la marca de España con la sostenibilidad.
