Resumo

The use of social media in educational contexts can lead to an increa-se in hate messages, putting marginalized groups at risk of discrimination and devaluation within the educational institution. This study aims to explore educommunicative strategies used by Secondary Education teachers in Spain, Honduras, and El Salvador to prevent discrimination in classrooms. The research involved 200 teachers who completed a questionnaire based on Ferrés and Piscitelli’s six dimensions, previously validated, with each dimension containing four categories, each having six statements. The main findings highlight the challenges teachers face in promoting non-discrimination, the lack of media literacy training among teachers (despite high usage of ICT), and the underutilization of teaching strategies that identify and analyze discriminatory content, hate speech, and stereotypes.
