Qualidade de vida, quedas e mobilidade de idosos portugueses, durante a pandemia COVID 19

Resumen

Introducción: El confinamiento domiciliario sufrido por la pandemia COVID-19 supuso una alteración en la vida de las personas mayores, lo que pudo haber afectado a su salud y calidad de vida. Objetivo: Describir la calidad de vida en relación con la salud y verificar su relación con la prevalencia de caídas y la movilidad funcional de las personas mayores portuguesas, durante la pandemia COVID-19. Método: Estudio descriptivo observacional. Participaron 182 personas mayores de más de 65 años (85,7% mujeres; edad 72,7% ± 6,7 años), del Bajo Alentejo, Portugal. Se evaluó la calidad de vida a través del cuestionario SF-36 y se analizaron las relaciones entre sus dimensiones y prevalencia de caídas y movilidad funcional mediante el Timed Up and Go. Resultados: Se encuentran relaciones significativas entre calidad de vida y género, prevalencia de caídas y movilidad. El análisis de las dimensiones del SF-36 reveló que una percepción más positiva de la SM (73,1%) se asocia al género femenino. Una percepción de FF (73,1%), DR (53,3%), FS (74,4%), DE (45,1%) y SM (72,5%) más positiva se relaciona con la no aparición de caídas y se verifica que las percepciones más positivas de FF (82,3) y de DE (53,2%) están asociadas a una buena movilidad. Conclusión: Una buena percepción de la FF, FS, DE, SN y DC relaciona-se con la no ocurrencia de caídas. Además, una buena percepción sobre la FF y la DE se relacionan con una buena movilidad. Las conclusiones de este estudio destacan la relación positiva entre la buena percepción de calidad de vida, la ausencia de caídas y la buena movilidad en personas mayores.
