Abstract

At present, although homophobia is present in various contexts of society, it is accentuated in some more than in others, for example, in the educational field. Given this fact, teachers form an active and elementary part in the work of preventing, detecting, intervening, and eradicating homophobia, in its different manifestations, from educational institutions. For this reason, the training of this group in this subject is fundamental and a priority. Starting from these premises, the aim of this paper is to describe some strategies to prevent homophobia in schools. It concludes with the idea that it is urgent to work on the issue of homophobia in all educational stages to create quality educational centers for all, centers that act under the democratic principles of the right to equal opportunities and to choose a sexual orientation. or another without receiving discriminatory treatment.
