Abstract
Employment Guidance involves a laborious work that must be in line with the needs of the users of employment services. This work implies a constant interpersonal relationship, and decision-making processes that often lead to intrapsychic conflicts of the user, as well as conflicts resulting from discrepancies between what the professional indicates as the best option and what the person who comes to the guidance service considers to be what he/she wants. On the other hand, the search for employment is determined by feelings that generate irascibility, frustration, sadness, anxiety, and a long etc. Conflicts are inherent to the person and their adequate coping will allow the development of coping strategies, not only applied to the world of work, but also to their own life. Coping with conflict situations entails learning a series of knowledge and competencies that allow for good conflict management. This chapter describes the different types of conflict and the necessary guidelines to carry out an exhaustive diagnosis of the conflict. Once the analysis of the situation has been carried out, tools must be available to enable the negotiation of the variables that generate the discrepancy of interests. Along these lines, several examples are shown that will allow the application of the contents of this chapter to professional performance.
