Résumé

With the distance of a quarter of a century and very different perspectives on life, French thinkers Albert Camus and Michel de Certeau published a book with the same title: The Stranger. In these times of extreme nihilism, a parallel reading of both texts could be useful to reflect on death and emptiness, and also on the possibilities of language —and specifically of Catholic religious language— to confront them. This paper exposes some points of contact between both works, with the intention of inviting to this reflexive reading.
