Doctor by the Universidad de Sevilla with the thesis La narrativa de Margaret Atwood como romance 1993. Supervised by Dr. Pilar Marín Madrazo.

Professor, School of Humanities, University of Huelva (Spain). Pilar is a Professor of English at the University of Huelva (Spain). Her research interests are the literary representations of intersections of gender, genre, nation, and race. She is the author of three books and editor of eight collections of essays. Her latest publications have discussed the work of writers of Black and Asian ancestry in Canada and the UK, drawing from critical race studies and postcolonial and feminist theories.
